Hi everyone!!
Here's me back at "home" with my foster K-9 brother. I'm the handsome guy on the left......Making myself comfortable on the blanket in the kitchen.
Just wanted to let you all know how great I'm doing. My foster mom thinks I must have picked up some extra energy while on my "vacation" because she has seen me chewing on some toys and I never used to do that before......I feel so happy to be back, that must be it! I can hardly tell I was at the vet last week and I'm showing my foster family how much better I feel by getting very excited when it's time to go for a walk. My foster mom thinks I have 2 personalities sometimes because I am sooo happy to go on a walk-wagging my tail, hippitty hopping a little- and yet once I am inside and everyone settles in one place (which isn't often in this house.....) I settle like I'm done for the day. But, if one person moves, then so do i. Maybe watching over everyone is wearing me out.
Get this-my foster mom is teaching me some serious manners-she is getting me to sit and stay before meals, sit and stay before going inside and outside and more. Wow!! She's wearing me out! I'm doing like she says though, because she's the boss right now. She thinks I knew alot of this before because I am doing very well. And my name-I don't know what it was before but when someone calls "Mac!" I can turn on a dime, I swear!
That's all for now-let me know if there's anything more you want to know about me!
Time to eat!!
Would you let me in please???

Mac is back!
Hi Friends!
While I was on vacation my doctor noticed I was not feeling my best. I was very thirsty and hungry. After some test, my doctors diagnosed me with Cushing's Disease, which causes my body to make extra natural steroids. At least I won't have to worry about trying out for Mr. Universe-even though I am cute enough.
After I had a little surgery to make sure my liver was ok, I am recovering wonderfully. I am headed back to my foster family this weekend to finish recovering and start on my treatment for Cushing's soon. I hope that means more peanut butter! Through out my stay at the vet everyone could hardly believe how happy I was. I just appreciated all the good care and the extra pets to watch. The dog bones helped too :) They tell me they are diet treats....... I don't know what diet it was but it sure tasted pretty good.
I'll check in as soon as I have loved on my foster family and settled back in. Have a great weekend!
Love,
Mac

Mac's Vacation
I've been having a great time here in Winston-Salem! Though I am very excited for my foster family to come home this weekend!
In preparation for their return, I've been working out! When I came into Lab Rescue, I weighed a little over 70 pounds. I am trying to lose those pesky last 5 pounds. It has been going pretty well! Hopefully my foster family will notice all my hard work!
I'm also getting myself all spiffy, so I can look my best for my foster family! I LOVE to be brushed, it is so relaxing! I mean, I like to look my best too, who doesn't! :)
During my vacation in Winston, I've been able to catch up on my reading and my napping. I like to take several naps throughout the day, because its nice to relax and get cozy!
I'm still on the search for my forever family! Wherever they are, I hope they are looking for a handsome, calm fella who loves to curl up and chill!
Have a great rest of the weekend, check in with you soon!

Mac the Cuddle-bunny
So, I wanted to tell you a little more about my favorite thing to do, but its kind of a secret, so shhhh! I really like to cuddle! I don't really want that to get around at the dog park, but I think I can trust you, right? Ever since I moved in at my foster home, I've come to realize how much I love to cuddle. They keep trying to tell me that I'm not a lap dog, but I beg to differ! It is just so nice to be close to my people, get a little petting and relax! My favorite people to cuddle with are the older folks, my 2 year old human foster brother can get a little rough sometimes and while I am super patient, I mostly like to cuddle with the older people, because they know my secret petting spots.
I am hanging out in Winston-Salem this week while my foster family is on vacation. I hope they are having a great time! I can't wait for them to get back!
I think while they are gone, I might try to catch up on my reading. I've been enjoying the book, Marley and Me, what a funny puppy. Luckily, I'm a lot more calm that Marley, but boy, I sure am jealous of the great forever family he had! Hopefully I'll have my own someday soon!!
Talk to you soon!

Mac's Diet
I have been having a lovely week, how about you?
I was very excited to see that some of you voted on my poll! My foster family has been feeding me Purina Diet Special food, just about two cups per day. I've put on a few pounds in the past few years (haven't we all?), so I am working on loosing some weight and becoming the svelte guy I used to be! I really enjoy taking daily walks with my foster parents, however I'm not really up for chasing the ball. I leave the ball chasing up to the "young bucks", once you get to be my age, you gain the wisdom to enjoy life in a relaxing way! As you can see from my picture with my foster sister, I like to lounge around, inside and outside, wherever I can keep track of my foster family. I like to know where they are, and keep an eye on them, so they can't do anything fun without me!
This next week my foster family will be on vacation. I sure am going to miss them! I wonder if they'll bring me back something cool?
Check ya later!

Mac's Visit to the Vet
Happy Monday! I had a great weekend, did you?
Last week I went to the vet. The vet's office is an interesting place, there are so many smells! My foster mom was really proud of me, because I was such a good boy! I was very patient with all the cats and dogs running around and through my legs! I just kept watching my foster mom and didn't really mind the commotion at all! When we went in the exam room, the vet joked, "We might have to muzzle him, he is so worked up!" haha :) I just let the vet look at me and I sat very still. The vet was nice and gave me a pat on the head and told me I was his best patient! Yay!
I have really been enjoying going for walks with my foster family! I get so excited when I see my leash, because I know it is time to GO! I've also been soaking up some North Carolina summer sunshine! I love hanging out outside, getting enough vitamin D is important you know!
Next week my foster family is going on vacation, so check back to hear how I am doing at the dog-sitters! I hope they bring me back something cool!
Love,
Mac

Mac
My name is Mac! I was recently surrendered to a shelter in Transylvania county. Luckily, the nice people at Lab Rescue picked me up and now I am living at a wonderful foster home! In my foster home there are four children ranging in age from 2 to 13 and I also have a k9 foster brother! It is a busy place, but I am so thankful to be in a home, instead of that yucky shelter!
They are estimating that I am between 8 and 10 years old, but shhh, don't tell me that! I act like a spry 5 or 6 year old! One of my best traits is my patience. My first day here at my foster home, I needed a little time to myself, so I went off in the yard and found a nice quiet place to lie down. Before I knew it, one of my human toddler fostering siblings was sitting right next to me! I just sat quietly as my foster brother poured dirt, handful by handful on my back. Haha, he is pretty silly! My foster mom was so impressed with how patient I am with kids! What can I say, I'm young at heart!
I am looking forward to sharing more about myself with you, so I hope you'll check back often!
Later!
Mac
